FAQs

Before you decide

Will insurance cover it?

Most health plans, including many company policies, cover knee replacement when it is medically needed. Coverage, cashless approval and claim amounts are decided by your insurer and the hospital, so please confirm with them. Our care expert can tell you what to ask and which documents to keep ready.

How much does it cost?

It starts from — per knee. The final cost depends on your case: the condition and complexity of your knee, one or both knees, the implant, your overall health, and the hospital and room you choose. It is confirmed after the surgeon examines you.

Is robotic surgery worth it?

It helps the surgeon plan and place the implant more precisely, and many patients have less pain and a quicker early recovery. It is not needed for everyone. Your surgeon confirms if it suits your knee.

Can a family member stay with me?

Usually one attendant can stay. Your Care Buddy explains the hospital's rules before admission.

Am I too old for knee replacement?

Many patients are in their 70s or 80s. Overall health matters more than age; your surgeon will assess you.

I have diabetes or BP. Is that a problem?

It is very common. Sugar and BP are brought under control before surgery and monitored during your stay.

Will it hurt?

You are under anaesthesia during surgery. Pain afterwards is managed with medicines and usually eases over the first few weeks.

Can both knees be done together?

Sometimes, if your health allows. Your surgeon will advise whether one or both knees at once is right for you.

Can I use an Indian toilet or sit on the floor?

A western toilet is advised, and deep squatting or sitting cross-legged on the floor is best avoided after surgery.

What should I keep ready?
  • Knee X-ray or MRI
  • Insurance card
  • List of medicines
  • Sugar / BP reports
